It works to improve the quality of life through art, charity, science and education since it was created in 1956.
They invited us to create the companion mobile experience for the Superstar Pharaohs Exhibition - shown at their Museum in Lisbon.
Our work with team Gulbenkian started with a scripted map of the exhibition. From there on we:
- Designed the interface, aligned with Gulbenkian’s brand guidelines;
- Defined interactions, and clarified the contents for each point of the user journey;
- Built a working prototype to test and fine-tune the experience;
- Developed the website using the Vercel framework;
- Focused on optimising the visual content - for the best possible performance in the museum’s public wifi.
The mobile website is a treasure hunt game that amplifies the Superstar Pharaohs exhibition and turns visitors into Egypt explorers.
Visitors access it via a QR code at the entrance. As they dive into the 250 pieces on display, the website launches questions and clues about the figure of the pharaoh - and about how pharaohs are still celebrities after five thousand years of History.
The experience invites children and grown-ups to explore together by paying attention to the displayed pieces.
At the end of the tour, a grand finale: the experience provides the tools and inspiration to create, save and share your own Egyptian-themed artwork.
